FAB FAKES 2025

art movements from 1840 to 1920

Realism…Impressionism…Symbolism…Expressionism

In 1998, one of Tuggerah Lakes Art Society’s (TLAS) members, Brian Hasler, founded the FAB FAKES Art Exhibition on the Central Coast. His reasoning was, the best way to learn art, like many artists of the past, was to emulate the ‘masters’.
A Fab Fake is an exact copy of an original masterpiece by an artist who has been deceased for over 70 years.

Now, by popular demand, judging by the results from last year’s event, Fab Fakes 2025 returns in a new format
in a new home at Toukley Art Gallery.
Many thanks to the retiring Gail Brigden who has been tirelessly devoted to the sucess this exhibition for 27 years.
