Margaret Jarvis

Margaret was born in Plymouth, England and came to Australia in 1970. Interested in art since high school, but with no formal training, Margaret discovered decorative painting whilst living in the United States in 1973, attending weekly classes and workshops.

On returning to Sydney, decorative art was not popular at that stage, but later Margaret taught decorative painting and faux finishes at leading studios in Sydney for ten years, and has had articles published in national magazines.

In 1999 she made the decision to cease teaching and devote time to developing her own style of brilliant floral's. The inspiration has come from her love of flora, which she has had since a child. She paints both from memory and life and her use of brilliant colour is her trade mark. Margaret also has had commissions for business cards with spiritual themes.

Margaret moved to the Central Coast in 2001 and joined the Toukley Art Society, where she was the art director for 3 years. Margaret accepts commissions and can be contacted at:
