Deidre Ryan’s natural artistic qualities were developed at Kogarah and Newcastle Technical Colleges, followed by many years in the competitive Commercial Art world. Deidre was further inspired by studying with Barbara MacKay at Penrith Art College, and at this time exhibited widely in the Sydney area. She has devoted herself to painting since the late 1960’s.
Deidre has spent years since 1979 travelling and studying Art and Cultures as diverse as European Classics, and the Creative Roots of Tibet, China, Egypt and Morocco.
Deidre has recently moved from Queensland to the Central Coast of N.S.W. where she paints and conducts workshops. Her paintings have been reproduced as cards and prints, and her paintings are represented in numerous Australian and International Collections.
